ELIZABETH IRELAND
PR Program Manager
Elizabeth Ireland is a savvy strategist and creative thinker coming from a broad background in public relations, social
marketing, advertising, branding and journalism.
Prior to Stalwart Communications, she decided to
explore her new city (San Diego) and give the other side of the desk a try while working as a journalist. Ireland was a
writer for NBC 7/39 and a freelance reporter for the Union-
Tribune, North County Times, and Carlsbad/Encinitas
Magazine.
Leading up to the 2008 election, Ireland spent a
few months working as a political reporter for a bi-
partisan website focusing on the Presidential campaign and California ballot measures. She’s covered
everything from Comic-Con to the Democratic and
Republican National Conventions.
When Ireland first moved to San Diego, she
worked at Red Lizard Creative as a copywriter. Ireland
helped brand the non-profit Home Start and
developed campaigns and media plans for clients such as
the San Diego County Department of Health and
Human Services.
Before moving to San Diego, Ireland worked in
Washington, D.C. at GMMB, a political, issue and
cause communications agency. She worked on
both the account and creative sides for clients such as the Save Darfur Coalition, Bill and Melinda Gates
Foundation, Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids and
the UN Foundation.
Originally from the East Coast, Ireland holds a
Bachelor of Science in public communications from
American University. She’s a member of the Public
Relations Society of America.
