A great hit for a
client that's kicking off a $5,000 scavenger hunt! This ran on tonight's 6pm newscast.
Take a look.
Bucks4Books Hosts "Treasure Hunt"
BUFFALO-A local business is looking to put some
cash in the pocket of a Western New Yorker, while also giving back to the community.
Bucks4Books has hidden a chip worth $5,000 somewhere in Erie County. They'll be posting clues on their
Facebook page and in stores everyday until someone finds it. The person who finds it will get $2,500 cash and Buck4Books will donate the rest to a charity or
school organization of the winner's choice.
Chief Operating Officer Chris Howard designs the clues, and he said it could take 2 days to find the chip, or it could take 20. They are prepared to designs clues as long as it takes for someone to find the chip.
"It's a fun way to kick off our busy season," Howard said. "And it's also a great way to give back to the community that helped us start our business."
Howard said they hope to empower someone to give back to someone who's making the world a better place.
If you happen to find a chip, they'll be a phone number and a code on the back to verify it.
Bucks4Books is a group of stores in the Buffalo and Fredonia area that buys back college textbooks. Howard said that due to their low operating costs, they can almost always buy back books for more money than your college bookstore can. They also have locations in Utah and California.
