At first glance, the prudent mind says to ignore a protest group like Greenpeace that picketed the new downtown San Diego headquarters of Bumble Bee Seafoods claiming the company does not practice sustainable harvesting techniques. That's exactly with the PR firm for the global icon recommended.

Instead, the CEO, Chris Lischewski asked several of its employees to counter by carrying a banner outside that read carrying a banner that read, “science is the key to tuna sustainability.” According to the Times of San Diego, Lischewski also noted that Bumblee Bee works closely with the World Wildlife Fund to ensure sustainability of seafood stocks.

So I'm inclined to agree with the company's strategy, and that doing nothing would imply wrongdoing.

What say my fellow PR professionals?
