Brands are constantly being challenged with finding creative ways to connect with their customers. Shop NFL recently did this through telling a story via a commercial. They created a piece that many fans around the world could probably relate to. It was a story about how one family grew up Vikings fans, but as each person went off and had their own life experiences (going to college, moving to a new town, meeting a famous player, marrying into another family, etc.), it resulted in them branching out and becoming fans of other teams or players. They were successful in depicting a story that is a reality in many households while promoting their store to encourage jersey sales for the whole family regardless of what team they support. Whether it’s through a commercial or another channel, I encourage brands to find creative ways to connect with their customers through storytelling.
