Sport Clips, providers of championship haircuts for men and boys in a sports-themed environment, announced today it will host a Cut-A-Thon on April 5 to benefit Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego.

The 11 locations, including Santee, will donate $1 for every haircut given and customers will receive a complimentary “Varsity” haircut voucher worth $18 that may be redeemed during Rady’s Miracle Month of May.

“We take great pride in stepping up to the plate and doing our part to support local organizations through efforts like this,” said Ron Chamberlain, local Area Developer and Franchise Owner. “Our San Diego stores are looking forward to the challenge of raising thousands of dollars and rewarding customers in return for their support with free vouchers to come back again in May. Let’s cut some hair and raise some money!”

In addition, Sport Clips is collecting donations from customers who want to contribute to Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego. Until April 24, donors can make a $1 minimum donation and receive a balloon to design which is displayed in the store. In return, donors will receive slam dunk coupons that include a 20 percent product purchase discount at Sport Clips, 20 percent off any regular price purchase at Game Day Sports, a round of golf at one of the six JC golf courses at a JC Players rate, and 25 percent off discount for food and beverage orders at Randy Jones Sports Grill for groups of six or more. For the Cut-A-Thon and Balloon donation campaign, Sport Clips is hoping to raise more than $6,000.

Local Sport Clips stores get awards
NORTH COUNTY —- Two local Sports Clips stores were recognized in May at the company’s 2009 National Huddle. Sport Clips offers haircuts for men and boys in a sports-themed environment.

The Del Mar Heights Village store was named a “Rising Star,” honoring top performers that opened in 2007. The store was sixth in net sales increase, with a more than 37 percent rise. It was fifth in client growth, with nearly a 32 percent gain.

Carlsbad Loker Business Center store was named a “Superstar,” recognizing best-performing stores that opened on or before December 2006.

The store was first in net sales growth with an increase of nearly 50 percent from 2007 to 2008. It was second in client growth with a rise of more than 41 percent from 2007 to 2008.

Also, the Carlsbad store was runner-up for the national franchise chain’s Logan Trophy and winner of the company’s President’s Circle.

We’re equally as proud that we were selected at the recommendation of the San Diego/Imperial County Area Developer, Ron Chamberlain. That speaks volumes and we’re already at work with the intent to EXCEED expectations!

Sport Clips to host week long Cut-A-Thon to benefit South Bay Family YMCA

Sport Clips, providers of championship haircuts for men and boys in a sports-themed environment, announced that they will host a week long Cut-A-Thon to help raise funds for the South Bay Family YMCA.

The Eastlake store will donate $1 for every haircut purchased during the week of Monday, March 23, 2009 through Sunday, March 29, 2009 to the organization’s youth sports program.

The January grand opening of the local Sport Clips shattered previous records held by other stores by 75 percent, according to the sports-themed haircut franchise.

The store spent its first two days offering free “MVP haircuts” to customers who donated $5 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County. The store contributed $1,340 to the clubs, says owner Terry Klinker.

Sport Clips entered the San Diego market in November 2006 with a store in Carlsbad. Since then, it has grown to include nine stores in the county, with one planned for Oceanside in the spring. It has more than 600 stores nationwide.
