The NFL sure has had it's run of bad press. Almost all of it is self-induced. Just when you thought the dust was settling, this happened:

NFL says Abdullah should not have been penalized

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The NFL said Tuesday that Kansas City Chiefs safety Husain Abdullah should not have been penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct when he dropped to his knees in prayer after an interception.

Good PR is not just being politically correct, but rather understanding the nuances of your audience base. In this case, the refs flat out blew it, and the NFL is dealing with yet another wave of bad press. Let this be a lesson to companies - staying relevant is a must if you are to remain in good graces with your constituents.
